When should I set the pick deadline for a Masters pool?
Most organizers set the deadline for Thursday morning before the first tee time (typically 8–9am ET). This gives everyone until Wednesday night to submit their picks.
How many golfers should each person pick?
The most common formats are Pick 5 or Pick 6 for the Masters. With ~90 players in the field, picking 5-6 gives a good balance of strategy and luck.
What happens if one of my golfers withdraws?
Withdrawn golfers (WD) keep whatever they shot in completed rounds, plus the same per-missed-round penalty as a missed cut. And a golfer who misses the cut or withdraws always scores at least one worse than the worst golfer who made the cut, so playing the weekend is never a disadvantage. You can configure the penalty when setting up your pool.
Can I run a Masters pool for free?
Yes — Birdpool is completely free for pools with 4 or fewer entries. The $20 fee only applies to pools with 5+ participants.
